Across the street from Nostrana is a 10,000 square foot garden where one of the most idyllic dinner parties takes place every Friday during the summer.
🌻 The vibe: L'Orto Nostrano's "Garden Pizza & Wine Fridays" series pairs rotating tastings from notable vintners with blistered wood-fired pizzas and seasonal snacks made with produce grown steps away.
- The expansive space is dotted with rows and rows of vegetable beds, flowers, string lights and casual seating — from covered communal tables to Adirondack chairs among the sunflowers.
🍕 Best bites: The garden's pared-down, 7-item menu is prepared from a small outdoor kitchen and centers on pizzas, alongside a handful of seasonal plates.
- On a recent visit, that included creamy burrata with green beans, cherry tomatoes and almond chili crisp, a generously dressed radicchio Caesar salad and a simple yet delicious cannoli with lemon ricotta.
What's next: Upcoming events feature Italian, Burgundy, Alpine and Austrian wine nights, culminating in a late-September harvest party with oysters from Flying Fish.
