The labor dispute between the WNBA and the players' union remains ongoing after Tuesday's target date to avoid disruptions to the season came and went.
Why it matters: If the two sides can't come to an agreement soon it could impact the Portland Fire's inaugural season.
Zoom in: The two sides have been in marathon negotiations this week, per ESPN, but remain apart on revenue sharing, housing and retired player benefits.
What's next: Training camp is scheduled to start April 19, but the league's newest teams — the Fire and the Toronto Tempo — still need to hold expansion drafts to build their rosters.
The longer the impasse stretches on, the more likely there will be impacts to the season, which would likely start with canceled preseason games.
