St. Vincent, the Grammy-winning, avant-garde art-rock auteur, will kick off the 2026 Biamp Portland Jazz Festival tomorrow at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall with support from duo Tuck & Patti (who happen to be her uncle and aunt).
The 10-day, citywide festival takes place across more than 30 venues and features more than 50 performances — roughly 20 of which are free to attend.
Other headliners include legendary gospel singer Mavis Staples, pianist Tigran Hamasyan, singer-songwriter Madeleine Peyroux, guitarist Bill Frisell and MonoNeon, whose known for this work with Prince.
You can catch acts all across the city, on stages at the Benson Hotel, Revolution Hall, Jack London Revue, Mississippi Studios, The Get Down and many more.
As for St. Vincent's set tomorrow, expect songs that don't typically make the cut during her more traditional tours and festival appearances.
She's calling it her version of a "jazz club cabaret fever dream," per Willamette Week.
If you go: St. Vincent with support from Tuck & Patti is at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall tomorrow at 8pm. Tickets start at around $72.
