We're officially one week away from when the residents of Southeast Portland's Peacock Lane flip the switches on their elaborate light displays for the holiday season in a tradition that dates back to 1932.
Some residents go all out — committing to over-the-top themes, set design and timed sound-and-light shows — while others keep it simple.

If you go: Peacock Lane (between SE Stark St. and SE Belmont St.) lights up every night from Dec. 15 to New Years Eve, 6-11pm.
Pedestrian-only nights (when the block is closed to vehicles) this year are Dec. 19-20. The event is free of charge and open to everyone.
