When Oregonians go bobbing for apples this fall, they'll most likely sink their teeth into this well-known variety.
- The top apple produced here remains the trusty Red Delicious, followed by Fuji and Gala.
State of play: Oregon is one of the nation's top apple growing states, and is forecast to produce nearly 4 million bushels during the 2025-26 season, according to USApple, an industry group.

- Yes, but: It's considerably less than the 189 million bushels our northern neighbor Washington is expected to produce.
Between the lines: A portion of the apples produced are not eaten fresh; they're used to make processed goods like applesauce.
