Blazer fans will get their first taste of NBA action when Rip City tips off it first preseason game tonight against the Warriors in San Francisco.
State of play: The team will look different in a lot of ways.
Rip City swapped guard Anfernee Simons for veteran defensive stalwart Jrue Holiday.
They bought out the contract of Dendre Ayton, giving second-year center Donovan Clingan and Yang Hansen — the 7-foot-tall Chinese center picked 16th in this year's draft — front court responsibilities.
The season starts as new owners are waiting in the wings, with a deal seemingly secured and awaiting approval from the NBA Board of Governors.
And, of course, hometown hero Damian Lillard will be there offering his wisdom from the sidelines as he recovers from a torn achilles.
Don't expect to see him on the court this season.
The bottom line: The game tips off at 7pm and will be broadcast on NBATV and streaming on BlazerVision.
