The prince of indie rock (and a big fan of bucket hats) Mac Demarco is back in Oregon for the first time since before the pandemic.
The latest: Demarco is making a stop at McMenamins Grand Lodge in Forest Grove on Monday as part of his tour for new, critically-acclaimed album "Guitar," which is a stripped-down look at his artistic past and what he hopes for the future.
The Canadian singer-songwriter played every instrument on the record, which includes songs like "Terror" and "Nightmare" that detail a former Brooklyn party boy turning around to assess his own wreckage.
Without all the synths and upbeat drum patterns of previous albums, Demarco's twangy voice, and storytelling, do the work here to brilliant effect.
If you go: Mac Demarco performs at the Grand Lodge Monday at 6:30pm. Tickets are sold out, but many are still available on the resale market.
