Why Oregon's wildfire season may just be getting started

• The Emigrant fire, currently the largest active blaze at 31,000 acres, was 0% contained Friday. Parts of the Willamette and Umpqua national forests remain closed to recreation, including sites in the Timpanogas Lake area.
• Evacuation orders for roughly 80 people near Prineville were prompted by the fast-moving Marks Creek fire. Flaggers were dispatched to parts of Highway 26 to help drivers navigate limited visibility amid wildfire smoke.
