Eight months into its tenure, Portland City Councilors voted to move to a weekly meeting schedule.
Driving the news: The council, which underwent an organizational transformation in January, is still working out the kinks of the new system and found themselves short on time for lawmaking while only meeting every two weeks.
What they're saying: "Weekly meetings will give us the structure to move more legislation, advance more ideas from Council, and deliver on the urgent changes our city needs," Councilor Jamie Dunphy said in a written statement.
How it works: The council will now meet every Wednesday.
