After a six-month closure, the Woodstock Library will reopen this week with fresh paint, new carpet and furniture, as well as a more accessible layout.
State of play: The library, located on the corner of its namesake boulevard and SE 49th Street, has been closed since March for renovations funded by the 2020 voter-approved library bond.
Multnomah County Library is halfway near completion of its "refresh" projects, with Albina, North Portland, Holgate and Midland now open.
Zoom in: Woodstock's new features includea kid-friendly play and learning space, a teen technology room, comfortable reading room chairs and improved bookshelf heights to allow more space and light.
Plus: The copy machine, scanners and computers are now at a new "tech bar," freeing up more table space for patrons.
If you go: Woodstock Library (6008 SE 49th Ave.) reopens Friday at 10am.
