The results are in from the 24 Hours of Lemons race up in Kent, Washington, this weekend, and our team…made it onto the track!
Driving the news: We made some upgrades to our journalism-themed 1988 Saab 900 Turbo since last year's race, and it seems we may have traded performance for reliability.
We spent a lot of the first day under the hood of the car fixing a stubborn and elusive oil leak, trying to get the turbo boost pipes to stay connected and repairing some busted welds on our homemade crankshaft position sensor trigger wheel.

Yes, but: The fixes worked, and we ran strong for nearly all of the second day with just about zero problems.
We beat our fastest time from last year by a full 10 seconds, and I turned in my fastest lap ever on the very last one of the race.
The bottom line: We weren't the fastest car on the track, but we also weren't (quite) the slowest.
And our team went from 0 to having a blast in record time.
