Oregon Secretary of State Tobias Read didn't take kindly to President Trump's threat to end vote-by-mail.
The latest: Trump threatened to end the practice — which has been in place in Oregon for more than two decades — by executive order and relayed to Fox's Sean Hannity that Russian President Vladimir Putin told him, "Your election was rigged because you have mail-in voting."
What he's saying: "Despite what Putin apparently whispered into President Trump's ears, our vote by mail elections are secure and accurate," Read told Axios.
"Voter fraud is extremely rare, and it's never changed the outcome of an election."
What's next: Trump signaled he would attempt to end the practice with an executive order, which would almost certainly face lawsuits from states like Oregon.
