In a 165-square-foot space, chef-owner of Sleepover Pizza, Aaron Manter, cranks out only a handful of Detroit-style pan pizzas each day — and sells out often.
Best bites: Every pie is kneaded and mixed by hand to produce a fluffy, but crunchy, focaccia-like base.
Some toppings are nostalgia-fueled (see: ham and pineapple), while others are a mind-meld of drool-worthy ingredients like ricotta, white truffle, pepperoncini and Linguica sausage.
Plus: When you buy two sodas, you get to stick your hand in a cardboard box and pick out a free DVD. (I got a double feature of "The Replacement Killers" and Jet Li's "Hitman.")
There's also a rotating secret menu, which sometimes includes Italian subs, that's only known to Instagram followers.
