It's our time for Pride, Portland.
Why it matters: Portland's celebration of the LGBTQ+ community will bring thousands downtown this weekend for parades, parties and performances.
- Here's some of what you can look forward to this weekend.
Friday
🪩 Start Pride on the right foot with the Gaylabration: Reflections dance party at Crystal Ballroom, with DJs, lasers and beats until the wee hours.
- The party kicks off at 9pm Friday with tickets starting just under $30.
🎭 Looking for something more low-key? Third Eye Theater will host the inaugural Portland Pride Play Festival, with shows starting Friday and running all weekend at the CoHo Theater in Northwest Portland.
Saturday
🎪 The main event before the main event, the Pride Waterfront Festival kicks off in Tom McCall Waterfront Park at noon with vendors, a makers market and two stages with dozens of acts playing throughout the day.
🏳️⚧️ A celebration of resilience and joy, the Trans Pride Rally will take over the North Park blocks from 2pm to 5:30pm with the theme of "survival and connection" for a "community that's under attack," organizers said.
Sunday
🏳️🌈 The Portland Pride Parade will likely be the weekend's biggest draw, with tens of thousands expected to flock to the route, starting at Northwest Broadway and Davis around 11am and ending at the festival on the water.
The bottom line: Pride will take over many venues this weekend, with block parties, drag bingo and roller derbies, just to name a few.
