Portland park rangers to fine off-leash dog owners

If you're used to letting your dog run free in Portland's parks, this is your last warning: Rangers will now issue fines for the prohibited behavior, the city announced Monday.

State of play: Park rangers are no longer required to give off-leash dog owners a warning before writing up a ticket after city councilors updated park rules last year.

Plus: You can also be fined for failing to collect and dispose of your pup's poop. Their doody is your duty.
Fines range from $50 to $150.

Yes, but: The city has more than 30 parks with designated off-leash areas where dogs can run, romp and wrestle to their heart's delight.
