Y'all know your stuff! We're blown away by the number of correct answers this week.
Joby was standing at the newly renovated, $211 million Washington Park reservoir, which reopens to the public next weekend for the first time in decades.
Flashback: Built in 1894, the engineers of the original reservoir didn't know about a nearby ancient landslide until it was activated during construction, significantly damaging the site over the years.
When work started on building the new site in 2016, crews could only excavate 50 feet at a time, adding drill shafts up to 100 feet deep for earthquake resiliency.
Plus: Construction was stalled for two years to allow the underground reservoir to settle before beginning on the reflecting pool up top.
By the numbers: The 12.4-million gallon reservoir serves 360,000 people on Portland's west side, including downtown businesses, hospitals and schools.
