Jollibee opens first Oregon location in Hillsboro

Filipino-style fried chicken lovers from across the Portland metro will be flocking to Hillsboro Friday for the grand opening of Oregon's first Jollibee.

Catch up quick: The fast-food chain has a strong presence in Southeast Asia and is rapidly expanding its footprint in the U.S. and Canada, with nearly 100 stores.

It opened its first Pacific Northwest restaurant in Seattle last year.

Best bites: Known for its bone-in fried chicken bucket (Chicken Joy), Jollibee's menu also includes Angus beef burgers on a brioche bun, spaghetti with hot dog and melty cheese, plus desserts like ube and peach-mango pie.

Pro tip: Always order a side of tangy gravy for dipping and a pineapple refresher to wash it all down.

If you go: Jollibee (10875 NE Cornell Road) is located in the Tanasbourne Village shopping center. Open daily from 9am to 11pm starting Friday.
