To cap off the three-day weekend, I decided to treat myself to some boozy ice cream at Portland's outpost of the New York-based chain, Tipsy Scoop.
I was intrigued by several flavors — cake batter vodka martini, spiked mint chocolate chip and tequila Mexican "hot" chocolate — but ultimately kept it simple with the vanilla bean bourbon.
The ice cream was smooth and velvety with rich vanilla flavors set off by subtle notes of bourbon.
And at just 5% alcohol, I didn't have to worry about being too buzzed after just one scoop.
