Dos Hermanos Cafe expands to Beaverton

Conchas, chopped sandwiches and ciabatta will be coming to one of Portland's up-and-coming foodie suburbs soon.
State of play: Dos Hermanos Cafe, founded by brothers Gabriel and Josue Azcorra in 2018, announced Wednesday that it will open a second bakery on downtown Beaverton's buzziest block.
- Dos Hermanos moved from its original 1,000-square foot brick and mortar on North Williams Avenue to a much larger building on SE Stark in 2023 in order to scale up production of their popular wholesale breads to meet demand.
Best bites: Known for serving Yucatecan pastries — like savory hojaldra (airy frybread filled with jalapeño and cheddar) and tart guava turnovers — the business is also part of the ChefStable restaurant group and offers sandwiches from Lardo's Rick Gencarelli.
- Dozens of Portland-area restaurants and grocery stores feature Dos Hermanos loaves.
- Standouts include its classic Bavarian pretzels, country-style French baguettes as well as specialities like pull-apart sourdough, sesame crunch and griddled rye.
Between the lines: The new Beaverton cafe will occupy the same corner space once home to two other Portland establishments: Pip's Original, which closed last year, and Magna Kubo.
- It's also next door to Tito's Taquitos and across the street from Deadstock Coffee's second location.
If you go: The team is shooting to open the week of June 16. Dos Hermanos' Beaverton location (12400 SW Broadway St.) will be open daily from 7am to 4pm.
