Feed the alpacas at central Oregon's Crescent Moon Ranch

If you're driving through central Oregon between Madras and Bend, do yourself a favor and visit some alpacas at the Crescent Moon Ranch in Terrebone.

• A quick walk among the camelids is free, but the $5 bags of grain are worth every penny to have the snaggletoothed creatures eat from your hand.
• Plus: If you time your visit right — like I did on Monday — the ranch will have several newborn alpacas tottering around beneath their moms.
