In honor of the late director David Lynch — who died in January at age 78 — the Hollywood Theatre is hosting a weeklong tribute screening some of his most beloved films, starting tonight.
Zoom in: Lynch is known for inspiring his own distinct style of film, tapping into the surreal and unsettling nature of mundane life, which is clearly on display in films like "Mulholland Drive," "Eraserhead" and "Inland Empire."
Hollywood Theatre will show those as well as five others, including "Blue Velvet" and "Lost Highway," in their original 35mm film or digitally restored versions.
Many of Lynch's films feature actors he plucked from obscurity and gave their first leading role to, including Kyle MacLachlan and Naomi Watts.
If you go: Several screenings are already sold out, but many seats still remain for those who want to ensure a spot ahead of time.
💭 My thought bubble: There's no better way to experience Lynch's work than in a historic theater surrounded by other movie aficionados. I'll be there!
