It's Tax Day, the deadline for most people to file their federal income taxes.
By the numbers: Oregon has among the lowest average tax refunds in the nation, per IRS data. The average tax filer eligible for a refund in the state gets back $2,772, well below the national average of $3,288.
- The only states to get back smaller returns are Wisconsin ($2,737) and Maine ($2,656).
- Floridians get the biggest average returns at nearly $4,000.
