Here are Oregon's 2025 James Beard finalists

The finalists for the James Beard Awards were announced Wednesday with some familiar names — and some newcomers — from Oregon vying for the dining industry's top prizes.

The latest: Oregon picked up six spots on the finalist list, with this year's expansion including new categories focused on beverage service.

Outstanding restaurant: Coquine (Portland)

Outstanding bar: Scotch Lodge (Portland)

Outstanding bakery: Jinju Patisserie (Portland)

Best chef — Northwest and Pacific:

Joshua Dorcak of MÄS (Ashland)
Ryan Roadhouse of Nodoguro (Portland)
Timothy Wastell of Antica Terra (Amity)

Context: Dorcak and Jinju Patisserie have been named as finalists for the second year in a row.

💭 My thought bubble: If you find yourself at Scotch Lodge, don't limit yourself to the drink menu. I've yet to find a better potato in Portland than their pickle-spiced fries.

What's next: Winners will be celebrated at a Chicago ceremony June 16.
