Right now, dozens of migrating bald eagles from Alaska and Canada are descending on the Dalles Dam to hunt, fish and roost — and you can catch 'em in action this weekend.
Zoom in: The 15th annual Eagle Watch event provides bird lovers and raptor fanatics the opportunity to see the predators dive for shad and waterfowl in the rushing waters of the Columbia and take a snooze in the trees surrounding Westrick Park.
Plus: Staff from Rowena Wildlife Clinic, Columbia Gorge Discovery Center and Museum and U.S. Forest Service will lead educational activities for kids and bring rehabilitated raptors to meet up close.
👀 If you go: The event is free and open to the public tomorrow, from 10am to 3pm at the Dalles Dam Visitors Center.
Bring your own pair of binoculars, though park rangers will have some spotting scopes available for use.
