While the populationof Oregon's most populous county — Multnomah — has stayed relatively flat in recent years, three others have seen double-digit growth.
Zoom in: Sherman County grew the most (18.9%), followed by Crook County (14.8%) then Deschutes (12.4%) between 2019 and 2023, according to the five-year American Community Survey, which the U.S. Census Bureau released last month.
The big picture: Among other states, Oregon ranked 18th for fastest rate of population growth.
The state's average population from 2019-2023 increased 3.8% over its five-year average from 2014-2018, per the survey data.
