The easiest way to prepare a hearty Thanksgiving meal this year is to not do it at all.
Driving the news: If toiling over a hot stove isn't your idea of a holiday, there are plenty of places that will do it for you — with turkey, fixings or non-traditional items ready to fill your table … and your stomach.
The classic steakhouse on West Burnside is expanding its horizons from aged ribeyes and onion rings. Their meal kit — which feeds six — features a roasted, bone-in turkey breast, served with stuffing, whipped potatoes, carrots and a pumpkin pie.
- $245; pick up Nov. 27.
If you like your Thanksgiving a little smoky, Bullard Tavern has you covered with a meal for four: half a smoked turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and all the accoutrements the holiday calls for.
- $200; pick up Nov. 27.
- Their pastry chefs are also offering pies, pecan sticky buns and dinner rolls a la carte.
If you want to do some cooking on the big day, but not a ton, SE Portland's Quaintrelle has what you're looking for with their "just add turkey" meal kits, which include focaccia-sausage stuffing, green beans, stuffed squash, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy, dinner rolls and, of course, dessert.
- $73; pick up Nov. 27 or Thanksgiving Day.
Other options
A number of supermarkets and chains also offer takeout or heat-at-home options, including:
- New Seasons
- World Foods
- Elephants Delicatessen
- Zupan's Market
- And if you're just looking for pies, there are several places — Sweedeedee, Grand Central Bakery and Papa Haydn among them — that specialize in satisfying sweet tooths.
