Rapper Aminé brings "Best Day Ever Fest" to Portland

• He now lives in Los Angeles, but the Benson Polytechnic High School grad holds Rose City close to his heart and in his work.
• The music video for "Shimmy" is basically a love letter to Portland, and shows Aminé driving over the Burnside Bridge, dancing around Providence Park and biking down Alberta.

The vibe: Now that kid from Portland has his own festival — The Best Day Ever Fest — which includes a variety of artists, big and small, across genres.

• Another Portland rapper, 3Way Heff, kicks things off Saturday at 6pm, followed by R&B singer-songwriter Ravyn Lenae, jazz-electronic band BadBadNotGood and headliner Kaytranada — who is Aminé's other half in KAYTRAMINÉ.
• Sunday's lineup features a DJ set from hip-hop artist MadisonLST, Atlanta-based rapper Karrahbooo, early-aughts indie-alt icon Toro y Moi and, of course, Aminé himself.
