Eastern Oregon's Durkee Fire has become the state's sixth-largest wildfire in history, according to data from the Department of Forestry.
The latest: The fire, burning just outside Baker City near the Idaho border, reached nearly 294,000 acres with 58% contained, as of yesterday.
- Wildfires in Oregon have burned more than 1 million acres since the start of the season.
- Currently, over 100 fires are burning across the state — large and small.
What we're watching: Warm, dry weather from this week's heat wave could exacerbate wildfire conditions and make firefighting difficult.
