Our readers know what's cooking — I was standing outside Fuller's Coffee Shop at NW Davis Street and Ninth Avenue.
With its winding counter, chrome bar stools and neon signs, this unpretentious diner has, since 1960, been the place to grab a coffee and a club sandwich.
Flashback: When it was boarded up for most of 2023 because of a fire, it seemed like the beating heart of Old Portland had given out.
But, now: Fuller's is back, both remodeled and with a sturdy outside eating area. It even smells better.
Everyone got the answer right, except for the person who said the Stepping Stone Cafe, so congratulations to all on your good taste and observational skills.
If you go: Fuller's Coffee Shop is open 7am–2pm Monday to Saturday, 8am–2pm Sunday.
