🏇 Art snack: Jillian's Jaunt in Joseph

Art inspired by a trip to rural Joseph, Oregon, last September is at Chefas Projects, starting Friday.

Detroiter Jillian Evelyn's flat, colorful images of women are a good place to start. Usually, her women are in an urban setting, but here they're exploring a western landscape.

The vibe: Five artists, from St. Louis, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Detroit, hiked and rode horses by day at a summer camp organized by The Jaunt.

At night, they screen-printed their thoughts and feelings at their base — The Jennings Hotel.
The show, called Joseph, is a group exhibition curated by Jeroen Smeets from The Jaunt. It also displays the works of Tim Biskup, William LaChance, Macarena Luzi and Stevie Shao.
