"Go Byrds" isn't just an expression: It's a wish for a long and prosperous marriage for two of Philly's biggest Eagles fans.
Why it matters: Tying the knot at a tailgate ahead of Philly's "Monday Night Football" showdown with rival Dallas is the ultimate wedding gift for soon-to-be-married Brandon Byrd and Lindsey Carl.
The big picture: It's probably going to feel like two funerals and a wedding outside Lincoln Financial Field.
- Jason and Travis Kelce's Garage Beer ran a contest inviting couples to submit 90-second hype videos pitching their love stories and why they deserved the ultimate honor: a Birds-inspired wedding bash at an over-the-top Eagles tailgate.
- The beer company is bringing in a roster of A-listers, including grillmaster Matt Groark and former Eagles defensive tackle Beau Allen, for the couple's big day.
- But the Eagles have lost four straight and on Monday will once again be without quarterback Jalen Hurts, who's out for the season while undergoing treatment for blood clots in his lungs.
Yes, but: The Chicago-based couple, who were introduced by their best man at a street festival, know how to raise the roost — even in an off year.
Axios asked the pair for their secrets to a long, fulfilling relationship filled with love, laughter and at least two more Super Bowl championships for the Birds.
On how they discovered they were lovebirds: "When I told Brandon I wanted a backyard full of chickens, and he was game, that's when I knew he was the one."
- "Also, our love for houseplants, going on walks, and just spending every moment we can together."
How they ensured their tailgate application rose to the top of the stack: "We went all out! … Lindsey literally made a tie and bouquet from the Garage Beer box. And the iconic 'I hate Steven Singer' billboards, we had to change to, 'I hate being at weddings.' Obviously!!
- "Having the last name Byrd really helped. This gives us another reason to yell 'Go Byrds' all day long."
On their favorite Birds memories together: "We have a few local Chicago bars. Shout out to Rebel & Rye and The Reveler. They stream every game and bring out the Windy City Birds fans."
On their big day: "We have family and friends coming from all over the country! Everyone is still in shock, but the excitement has been insane."
On their prediction for the game: "Eagles by a million!!!!"
If you go: The tailgate kicks off at 4:30pm on Monday in Lot H.
