1 feel-good thing to go: Free field trips

Quinta Brunson, the star and creator of "Abbott Elementary," is helping pay for Philly district students' field trips.

Driving the news: Brunson launched the Field Trip Fund yesterday on Giving Tuesday for the School District of Philadelphia.

• Brunson also donated to the fund herself, per the nonprofit's website.

How it works: The donations will fund no-cost field trips for district students (but not charter schools).

• Schools must apply for field-trip funding, which is disbursed twice a year.
