The Philadelphia Flower Show is getting back to its roots.
Why it matters: The 2026 show coincides with the nation's 250th anniversary, and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society says it's saluting herbs and heritage.
Driving the news: PHS unveiled Thursday that the annual ode to our senses will be built around the theme "Rooted: Origins of American Gardening" — a nostalgic throwback to grandpa's garden and family recipes handed down through the generations.
- Running Feb. 28–March 8 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, the flower arrangements and exhibits will paint a vivid story about how people have both shaped and been shaped by the legacy of gardening.
- It'll also plant seeds for PHS' upcoming 200th anniversary in 2027.
What they're saying: "Every seed carries a story," PHS says. "What's yours?"
- The show will be "filled with memory, meaning, and incredible creativity," Seth Pearsoll, the show's creative director, says in a statement.
Flashback: The show will cap a three-year themed trilogy of gardening's past, present and future.
What to expect: PHS is teasing a special four-garden installation honoring America's big birthday, created by designers from across the country.

Zoom in: PHS is offering several ticket options, including any-day flex for $60 and a $100 Floral Fanatic pass that allows unlimited daily access to the show.
- Plus: $33 Twilight tickets for after 4pm during the week and $44 on weekends.
