Road closures start for Kelly Drive, Market Street today

Driving the news: One of the following stretches of Kelly Drive will close down for milling and paving each weeknight from 8pm-6am through Aug. 29:

• Ridge Avenue to Fountain Green Drive (at the Ulysses S. Grant statue)
• Reservoir Drive and and 25th Street (at the Philly Museum of Art)

Plus: After that work is complete, count on daytime lane closures on Kelly Drive while crews repair inlets and manholes before repaving the street, per the state Department of Transportation (DOT) website.

Meanwhile, westbound lanes along Market Street between 2nd and 6th Streets will completely shut down through Nov. 17 for utility and roadway work, per the state.

• Eastbound lanes will remain open to traffic.
• Westbound travelers will have to use Front, Arch and 6th Streets.
