Here's your shot to find the love of your life on a reality show with millions of people watching, Philadelphia.
Driving the news: Netflix's "Love is Blind" is accepting applications from "single men and women" in Philadelphia, per a social media post from Kinetic Content.
- Casting calls are also out in New Orleans, Austin, St. Louis and Charleston, South Carolina.
Yes, but: Is the show going to produce an upcoming season in Philly? Kinetic declined to say.
How it works: Fill out an application on Kinetic's website.
Must haves: Applicants should be "brave, open-minded, and READY for a committed relationship!" per the post.
- Plus: You must be single — not involved in a committed intimate or monogamous dating relationship, married, or in the process of getting a divorce, among other fine print, per the application.
- No candidates for public office, either.
The application also asks:
- "Do you want children in the future?"
- "Why do you think you are single?"
- "What are your deal breakers?"
Catch up quick: Contestants on the show date without seeing one another — speaking via pods separated by a frosted glass wall.
- If love blossoms, they get engaged — and only then can they meet face to face.
- Couples then move in and spend time together IRL, plan a wedding and decide on their wedding day whether to tie the knot or call it off.
The show has visited Minneapolis; Washington, D.C.; Chicago; and other locations over its eight seasons.
Reality check: The premise is a big hit with viewers, but the show's success rate when it comes to a lasting relationship isn't stellar, as Axios has reported.
What's next: Season 9 of the show premieres Oct. 1 and is set in Denver.
