Kevin Hart's adult-animated comedy series will be set in '90s Philly

Behind the scenes: Hart will star as his 12-year-old self, and the series will take a satirical approach to real-life experiences surrounding his family and community.

• Fellow star comics Wanda Sykes and Deon Cole are set to co-star as Hart's mother and uncle.

The intrigue: Chris Rock premiered an animated spinoff of "Everybody Hates Chris," an adult comedy about his childhood in Brooklyn, this past fall.

• Rock and Hart toured together and released a documentary about it in 2023.
