You can take an exclusive tour of the Philly Zoo this month for $150+

Driving the news: The first-of-its-kind Key to the Zoo tours are guided by animal experts in January, when the zoo is closed to the general public.

• Act fast: Tickets are capped at around 15 per tour.

How it works: You've got two options.

Conservation in Action tour: Visit some of the zoo's most critically endangered animals, including at least one up-close look, and learn about them from their caretakers. Plus, the ticket includes parking and a piece of artwork made by one of the animals.

• The four-and-a-half-hour tour ends with a catered lunch in the historic Solitude house with a member of the zoo's animal care team.
• Cost: $500 per ticket

History at America's First Zoo tour: Over two hours, you'll learn about the zoo's conservation techniques; take a "one-hour animal tour"; meet one of the zoo's animal ambassadors; and explore the historic Solitude house.

• Cost: $150 per ticket, which includes parking.

Worth noting: Kids are allowed but only those 5 and up.

If you go: Tours are offered this Saturday and Sunday, as well as Jan. 18 and 26.

• Conservation in Action tours must be booked at least four days in advance, and 24 hours for History at America's First Zoo.
