When stacked up against more than 15 major tech markets, Philly is in the bottom tier for tech salaries, according to a report released Tuesday from job search marketplace Hired.
- Software engineer salaries in the city are comparable to general tech job salaries in other emerging tech hubs like Austin, San Diego and Washington, D.C.
Other key takeaways: Flexible work options can likely attract more talent. Around 52% of the tech professionals the company surveyed around the globe preferred a remote-first model.
- Lowering salaries will increase turnover. Roughly 74% of tech workers said they would start looking elsewhere if salaries didn't increase or they were denied a raise in six months.
