Arkansans can add their IDs to Apple Wallet

Arkansas driver's licenses and state IDs can now be added to Apple Wallet.

Why it matters: Arkansans can show identification using their phones or other devices at participating businesses and organizations, including airports. University of Arkansas athletic stadiums and arenas will take the IDs, according to the state Department of Finance and Administration.

State of play: Arkansas joins 13 other states and Puerto Rico in allowing state IDs on Apple Wallet, according to Apple.

Yes, but: The state recommends continuing to carry physical IDs as the mobile versions aren't accepted everywhere.

It is up to each law enforcement group as to whether they accept them for traffic stops, department spokesperson Scott Hardin told Axios.

How it works: Tap the + button at the top of the screen in Apple Wallet, select "Driver's License or State ID" and follow the instructions to add your ID.

Flashback: Arkansas launched an app last year to allow Arkansans to have a digital copy of their IDs.
