Turning Point CEO Erika Kirk and Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders are expected to announce a statewide partnership at 1pm Wednesday at the Governor's Mansion.

The big picture: The media advisory from Sanders' office provided no details, but the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that a news release from Turning Point USA framed the announcement as the next step in the group's "mission to put chapters on every high school and college in America."

Context: Kirk is the widow of Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist fatally shot last year at an event at Utah Valley University as part of his "American Comeback Tour."

The other side: The Young Democrats of Arkansas will host a press conference an hour before the announcement at the state's Democratic headquarters.

"As Gov. Sarah Sanders abuses her state power to funnel students into indoctrination clubs across Arkansas, the Young Democrats of Arkansas, the largest and oldest youth-led civic organization in Arkansas, will present the case for why young people should join the fight to win the future and promote progressive values in the Natural State," the group's advisory reads.

The latest: Kirk was recently appointed to the Air Force Academy's Board of Visitors, a role previously held by her husband.
