During my sneak peek of the AC Hotel on the new Walmart campus back in May, I knew I'd be back to the rooftop bar on my own time.
🧢 State of play: Falfurrias, the restaurant and bar on the hotel's fifth floor, is open to the public and hotel guests. The hotel is a convenient spot for the many visitors to Walmart's headquarters, and the rooftop bar is a convenient place for Walmart employees to decompress after work.
- And for those of us not affiliated with Walmart, it's a snazzy rooftop hotel bar. We'll gladly take it.
- Falfurrias includes a big covered outdoor space where you'll want to hang for hours. There's also an indoor space with comfy couch seating.
🥃 What to try: I was impressed with the Rackensack ($15) with Fox Trail bourbon, gin wash, bitters and smoked rosemary. The rosemary flavor really comes through. Bourbon drinkers will also appreciate the Cold Fashioned ($15) with a coffee and chocolate twist.
- The Falfurrias Sunset ($14) with tequila, liqueurs, orange juice and lime juice is Falfurrias' version of a margarita and a good go-to.
🌅 The bottom line: Come for the views, the atmosphere and the drinks. The menu has some solid bar bites, like the queso.
