Arkansas' Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Trump's North Carolina campaign trail

Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) joined former President Trump at a rally in Raleigh, N.C., on Monday.

Why it matters: Sanders, who was Trump's press secretary from 2017 to 2019, took her time endorsing the former president, which she did last November.

Apparently their full speeches were cut due to timing issues, but Trump brought them both on stage for comments.

What she's saying: "Every day when the left was relentlessly attacking me, it was Donald Trump who stood up for me, who empowered me and gave me confidence to do my job, and that's what he does for every single American, every single day. He will not let us down," Sanders said at the rally.
