Monday Munchies: Xuma Kitchens in downtown Fayetteville

Photo: Alex Golden/Axios

Alex here. Allow me to introduce you to Xuma Kitchens, a bright and colorful Mexican restaurant in downtown Fayetteville where I want to be every day after work.

The intrigue: You can mix and match your tacos here and create your ideal plate.

How it works: Choose from carne asada, marinated chicken, roasted chicken, carnitas, chorizo, al pastor, avocado or poblano and/or cheese; top your tacos with your choice of pico de gallo, tomatillo, roja (red), 7 chiles and hot avocado.

What I ate: Three tacos — carne asada with 7 chiles, marinated chicken with hot avocado and avocado with pico de gallo. And a pineapple margarita.

  • It's so nice to get a variety on one plate. All the sauces are awesome, but fair warning — the hot avocado is hot.

When and where: 5-9pm Tuesday-Thursday, 11am-3pm and 5-10pm Friday and Saturday, and 11am-3pm and 5-9pm Sunday at 25 E. Center St. in Fayetteville.
