Sean Payton worries he can't say enough nice things about Drew Brees.

Why it matters: The former Saints head coach is getting a big opportunity to do it right this Saturday when Brees gets inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Between the lines: It's a big honor to be the guy introducing the new Hall of Famer, and Payton's reaction to Brees asking him to take on the task went viral over the weekend.

"I can't believe you just did that," Payton said through tears.

Zoom in: Speaking with reporters last week, Payton talked about the pressure he felt during interviews filmed ahead of this week's broadcast.

"Your fear is it's not going to be good enough or complete enough. At least, that's how I felt," Payton said Thursday in Denver, where he now coaches the Broncos.

State of play: Brees, who led the New Orleans Saints to win their first and only Super Bowl, will be the twelfth member of the team to be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.

He'll get the honor after his first time on the ballot, which speaks to just how much of a no-brainer his entry is for the NFL.

How to watch: The 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame induction is set for 11am CT Saturday on the NFL Network and ESPN.
