Frenchmen Street at North Claiborne is now named for Jean Knight, a singer best known for her 1971 hit, "Mr. Big Stuff."
The intersection of North Johnson and Independence streets is now named for Mardi Gras Indian Big Chief Donald Harrison Sr.
