Winn-Dixie to offload its Louisiana stores

The big picture: The news comes as Southeastern Grocers plans a brand transition to The Winn-Dixie Co. early next year, the news release said.

• Part of those plans include agreements or goals to sell 32 of its Winn-Dixie stores across the South, including its Louisiana markets.
• "Store closings are expected to be completed by year-end, with all banner transitions anticipated by early 2026," the release said.

Zoom in: The sales include all of its Louisiana markets, according to a statement from the company, which also posted a tracker online with details on which operators will take over its stores.

• Two Baton Rouge stores will become Super 1 Foods stores.
• Plans for many of the remaining Louisiana stores were listed as pending as of Wednesday.
