Nashville airport getting new nonstop flights to Aruba, Virgin Islands

Southwest Airlines is beefing up its presence in Nashville with a slate of new nonstop routes that could be the start of your next beach vacation.

Why it matters: Continued growth at Nashville International Airport means a lot of construction, of course, but it is also leading to more convenient travel options for flyers.

State of plane: Starting next spring, Southwest will offer direct flights from Nashville to Aruba, St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Costa Rica, and Jamaica. Those flights will all be available on Saturdays, per an announcement.

Other new routes launching in March include once-daily flights to Des Moines, Iowa, and Wichita, Kansas.
