NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell came to Nashville last week to celebrate the ongoing construction of the new Nissan Stadium.
State of play: On Friday, the Titans marked the completion of the stadium's structural frame. Goodell heavily hinted that the stadium is the last piece Nashville needs in order to host a Super Bowl.
Nashville's record-shattering stint hosting the NFL Draft in 2019 signaled the city was up to the task, he said.
What he's saying: "All of us at that moment had that wake-up moment that this a Super Bowl ready city," he said. "The one thing that's missing is the stage."
"Now you're building the right stage."
"We have a process but I have every expectation that you're going to see that type of thing in the future."
What's next: The stadium is on track to open in 2027.
The soonest Nashville could host a Super Bowl is in 2029.
