Dolly Parton reassures fans: "I ain't dead yet!"

Reality check: Parton, 79, posted a video Wednesday downplaying the situation, saying her health issues were "nothing major."

• "I know lately everybody thinks that I'm sicker than I am," she said.
• "I wanted to put everybody's mind at ease."

Between the lines: Parton explained she "didn't take care of myself" after her husband, Carl, died in March. She said she's staying closer to home temporarily for treatment at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

• But the singer is still working — she recorded her message in full glam (obviously) while preparing to film promotions for the Grand Ole Opry.
