It's almost Labor Day weekend, which marks the unofficial end of summer.
- But there's plenty to look forward to in Nashville as we roll into fall.
Why it matters: Autumn in Nashville is a choose-your-own-adventure joyride, with events that span a broad range of interests. Music, art, movies, books, beers and a whole lot of pumpkins are on the calendar.
🎶 We'll start with music, naturally.
Musicians Corner starts its fall concert series Friday in Centennial Park. Organizers promise 38 acts across seven different concert dates.
- Free, family-friendly concerts run sporadically through Sept. 26. Artists on the lineup span an array of genres and include Amanda Shires and Yola.
AmericanaFest takes place Sept. 9-13, and features dozens of artists, including Caitlyn Smith, Natalie Hemby, T. Bone Burnett and Rodney Crowell.
Big-ticket concerts on the horizon include Tyler Childers playing Geodis Park Oct. 10-11 and Sabrina Carpenter coming to Bridgestone Arena Nov. 4-5.
🎉 Fall is overflowing with festivals.
The Nashville Film Festival, which runs Sept. 18-24, features the Jennifer Lopez musical "Kiss of the Spider Woman" and a special screening of "Cold Mountain" paired with a live Q&A with Nicole Kidman.
Oktoberfest takes over Germantown Oct. 2-5. Attendees can enjoy beer, brats and a puppy parade.
The Southern Festival of Books returns Oct. 18-19. This year, following federal funding cuts from the Trump administration, the event is presented in partnership with Vanderbilt University.
🍁 Outdoor fun is one of our favorite parts of sweater season.
The Nashville Farmer's Market is hosting its annual harvest party — the Fall Ball, Y'all — Sept. 27. There will be fall produce, a pumpkin patch, a petting zoo and free pony rides, with a backdrop of live bluegrass.
The Hermitage is offering fall ghost tours in September and October. Brave participants can stroll the grounds and cemetery for a lantern-lit walk at dusk. Along the way, they'll hear about unexplained events that happened there.
Cheekwood is a classic for a reason. The annual Cheekwood Harvest, which lasts from Sept. 23-Oct. 30, features a pumpkin village built with more than 75,000 pumpkins, a scarecrow trail and a series of new nighttime events on Thursdays.
